The Gospel Service is all about the good news from God presented in the Bible. On the one hand, this is a profound subject; on the other hand it can be expressed as simply as ABC:
All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23
This is the bad news. The origin of sin is explained in the Bible. It goes right back to creation; to the first man God created, in fact. In Romans 5:12 it says, “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.”
Be sure your sin will find you out. Numbers 32:23
The Bible teaches that God is holy and must judge sin; “It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment,” Hebrews 9:27. This judgement means eternal separation from God in a place the Bible calls hell. But the good news is that:
Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. 1 Timothy 1:15
God is not only holy, but He is love. God gave His own Son who, when He died on the cross, bore the penalty of our sin and satisfied God’s holiness. His resurrection from among the dead proved God’s absolute satisfaction with His sacrifice.
We can have forgiveness and experience peace with God by repenting (confessing and turning from our sin) and putting our total trust in Christ to be our Saviour.
